This joing advisory is issued by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and the National Waste & Recycling Association (NW&RA) to provide public and private sector solid waste management professionals with guidance, protocols, and standards regarding designing contracts for processing municipal recyclables.

The information in this advisory focuses on recyclables collected from residences and delivered to a matrerials recovery facility (MRF) for processing or preparation for sale.
